Our Mission
Lookin' fer fun? I mean good old western rootin’ tootin’ shoot ‘em up fun, then cowboy action shooting is for you. You'll find the nicest folks here always willin' to give ya a helping hand to get ya started, along with a little kidding and laughter to help ya on the way.
Cowboy action shooting is the fastest growing shooting sport. Shooters dress in 1800-period duds and compete in scenarios. The scenarios are western-based scenes that require the shooters to role-play an old west character in a movie-type setting called a "stage." Some of our 11 shooting stages are: a jail, a bath house, a stable and a saloon. The shooter is required to act out the scenario while engaging various targets with 1800-period firearms: two six-shooters, lever rifle, and shotgun.
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced shooter or you just want to find out more, come join us at a monthly match. Our Regulators can show you the ropes of cowboy and cowgirl shooting. Plus, we hold classes the 2nd Saturday of the month. Yes ladies, we have a bunch of ladies all dressed up in the best clothes and of course guns! Don’t worry if you don’t have the firearms, we can loan you whatever you’re missing.
Our cowboy shoots are held on the 4th Saturday of the month. Registration is from 8 to 9 AM. Mandatory safety meeting at 9:00 AM and the shootin' starts right after. We usually shoot six stages and end up approximately 1:30 PM. Practice stages are open after the match. So, bring extra ammo and get in some practice.
What to wear: Costume requirements are waved for first time shooters. However after a couple of matches, the minimal cowboy clothing is required to shoot. Since this is cowboy shooting all shooters need to look “cowboy." Minimum costume: Blue jeans, long sleeved shirt, boots or old leather styled shoes and a cowboy hat.
